In fact compared with the traditional circus, the contemporary circus tends to focus more attention on the aesthetic impact, character and story development, the use of lighting design, original music, and costume design to convey the narrative content.
1-The clowns
The clown show is based on a comic performer whose performances focus on costumes and physical humor. Clowns usually wear strange looking costumes featuring distinctive makeup, colorful wigs, exaggerated footwear, and colorful clothing. Their entertainment style is generally designed to entertain a large public from different ages and especially children.Their roles in the circus is based on a comedy of a fool whose everyday actions and tasks become extraordinary.
2_The acrobats
Their shows consist in performances that require great skill, courage, balance, agility and coordination. Acrobatics is most often associated with activities that make extensive use of gymnastic elements and other human body performances such as aerobatics.
3-Trapeze artists
They often perform shows on a short horizontal bar hung by ropes or metal straps from a support.Trapeze acts may be static, spinning, swinging or flying, and may be performed solo, double, triple or as a group act.
4-The tight rope walkers
Their shows commonly consist in maintaining balance while walking along a wire or a rope tightened between two points.They may perform using some tools like umbrellas, ladders, fans and even animals and wheelbarrows with passengers or may do their acts "freehand". Their acts can be done at much greater heights than the usual twenty feet height.
5-Jugglers
Juggling requires a great physical skill involving the manipulation of one or more objects called props such as balls,clubs rings or hats.Jugglers may use more dramatic props such as knives,fire torches or chainsaws.
6-Tamers
They usually use animals to perform perform with them or animals performing by themselves such as seals birds horses or even wild animals such as lions , tigers or big cats.
7- Stage magicians or illusionists
They entertain their audiences by staging tricks or creating illusions of supernatural achievements. Magicians may pull a rabbit from an empty hat, make something seem to disappear, or transforms a red silk handkerchief into a white handkerchief. Magicians may also destroy something, like cutting a rope and then "restore" it.
