Family: children and healthy eating.

Most teenagers prefer eating at fast food restaurants.They find the food crunchy, salty and more tasty than the food prepared at home or at school canteens.While teenagers don't care about vitamins, proteins and minerals in their food, most if not all of them want to have a neat skin , strong bones,nice hair and a fit body in general. What teachers and parents have to do is just draw their attention to the link been healthy food and a sound body.


-The food served at fast food restaurants is delicious fatty, sugary ,or salty food that teenagers love eating while scientist advice to eat  them sparingly.
-Scientists allow teenagers to eat all types of whole grain,bread, cereal,pasta and rice liberally. Yet fast foods rarely serve whole grain foods.

- Teenagers may eat legumes ,nuts,seeds and meat moderately together with low and non-fat milk,yogurt, and fresh cheese they're good for healthy brain and bones.In fact they are good sources of proteins.





-They are also allowed to eat the group of fruit and vegetables generously which are not always present at fast food meals.They are sources of fibers, vitamins and minerals that  provide energy.They also boost the immune system and help keep fit since they fight against illnesses like cold,blood pressure,cholesterol,stroke and heart diseases, diabetes ,cancer and eye problems.
 What teenagers need is a peaceful discussion at home or at school about the benefits of a healthy diet.
